Drop Off

Coaches will leave BSG, East Way, at 8am, returning approx. 7pm to East Way in front of the Car Park/ Tennis Court area.

Collection

Please ensure girls have enough mobile phone battery life left on their phone, so that they can ring their lift in case of delays. Please use the Car Park in the school grounds at the Main Entrance or alternatively park nearby and walk along to East Way and meet the girls in the tennis court area please. Girls will be directed off their coach and into the tennis court area for their safety.

Allocation / Over Subscription

Should we not have enough spaces, places will be allocated on a lottery basis; each name will be drawn from a hat. A full cash refund will be issued to the girls who are not drawn. Refunds will not be made for any other reason. The PSA cannot gain refunds from Thorpe Park for the tickets or from the coach company in the event of illness on the day. Please make sure girls are free for the whole day before you commit to making an application, individual travel arrangements cannot be made.

Coach Allocation

To assist us with the mammoth logistical task of coach allocation, generally class forms are allocated to coaches. In general, students will be allocated coaches with some/all of their classmates. Should you have a specific out of form request then please put this on the application form for it to be considered. Please ensure you provide first name, surname and form. Without this it is very difficult for our PSA team to identify the student/friendship group. Please be advised that specific friend requests cannot be guaranteed and cannot be changed once issued. For context, allocating classes/year groups across 10 coaches as well as honoring friend group requests for around 500 students is very time-consuming for our team. Girls will be free to meet up in the park on arrival. Each girl attending the trip will receive a letter confirming the precise details of the day.

Call for Volunteers

The trip also depends on us finding enough Parent/Guardian volunteers to accompany the girls on the coaches and to help supervise in the park. The cost of the helpers’ tickets and coach fares will be met by the PSA and there will be plenty of time for the helpers to enjoy the day. If you would like to volunteer to help on the trip, then please state this in the final section of the application form.

Additional Support Needs

If your daughter may require additional support during the trip, we strongly encourage parents/carers to consider volunteering to help on the day. Parent volunteers provide valuable support to the PSA and help ensure the trip runs smoothly and safely for all students. Please note that volunteers will generally be allocated where they are most needed and will not automatically be assigned to travel with or supervise their own daughter unless this has been specifically agreed in advance. While some volunteers may hold first aid qualifications, parent volunteers are not specialist support staff and may not have specific training or experience in supporting students with additional needs. Parents/carers should therefore carefully consider whether their daughter can safely and independently participate in the trip with the level of supervision available. We also receive support and advice from the school’s senior leadership team regarding those students who may need extra support.

Code of Conduct

Access to this trip is part of the school’s reward scheme. Note, therefore, that eligibility to attend may be withdrawn at any time at the discretion of Mr Sims should a pupil’s conduct fail to meet the school’s high expectations. Access is considered a privilege by the senior teaching team; the school and PSA ask for parents to support this. Finally, please note all girls are expected to behave in a responsible manner, in accordance with normal school rules, for the duration of the trip.
